SkycraftVerifiedGenerate Image Foreground Mask API
The Image Mask API finds the main subject in an image and returns a grayscale mask of it. Use the mask to composite, clean up edges or analyse the subject in your own pipeline. Send the image in image, as a public URL or base64 data, up to 20 MB. Set format to json (default) or png. JSON returns the mask as a data URI with its metadata. PNG returns the mask file. Set quality to best (default) or fast. Set crop to true to trim the mask to the subject, with padding (0 to 1000 pixels) of space around it. Use maxsize to limit the output size. The JSON response includes the width, height, bytes, the subject bbox in the original image and the foregroundratio, the share of the image covered by the subject. If no subject is found, bbox is null. Teams use the Image Mask API to build cutouts for product photos and to place subjects on new backgrounds in their own editor. Others check that an upload has a clear subject, or crop images to it. To get the cut-out subject instead of the mask, use the Remove Image Background with Advanced Controls API. To read text from images, use the Image & PDF OCR to Markdown API.
Callable LabsRemove Image Background with Advanced Controls API
The Background Removal API removes the background from an image and returns the cut-out subject. Send the image in image, as a public URL or base64 data, and get back a transparent PNG, a WebP, a JPEG or JSON metadata. Set format to json (default), png, webp or jpeg. JSON returns a PNG data URI with the metadata. Set background to transparent (default) or a solid #RRGGBB color. JPEG needs a solid color because it has no transparency. Set crop to true to trim the result to the subject, and add padding (0 to 1000 pixels) to keep space around it. Choose quality as best (default) or fast, and use maxsize to limit the output size. The response includes the format, mediatype, width, height, bytes, quality and foreground_ratio, the share of the image covered by the subject. It also returns the subject bbox in the original image, or null when no subject is found. Teams use the Background Removal API to remove the background from product photos and make profile pictures on a plain color. Online stores use it to prepare listing images and crop catalog shots to the subject. For a grayscale mask of the subject instead of the cutout, use the Generate Image Foreground Mask API. To read text in the image, use the Image & PDF OCR to Markdown API.
Callable LabsFood Ingredient Information API
Ingredient API to search foods, get nutrition per amount, find substitutes, and map recipe ingredients to grocery products by UPC. Free tier, no card.
SkycraftVerifiedDecode QR & Barcode API
Decode QR codes and barcodes from an image URL or base64 payload. Returns decoded text, format, position, and parsed payloads when available.

What is the Media Kit?
The Media Kit is visual processing for your product. It prepares, protects and captures images, video and web pages so they are ready to show, share or analyze.
It helps e-commerce, marketing and web-aware AI products keep visuals consistent and fast at any volume.
How AI products use it
- Remove backgrounds from product photos in a shopping assistant.
- Watermark images and videos before users share them.
- Capture a webpage screenshot for an agent to review.
Why not build it in-house?
Each capability in the Media Kit looks simple to build. The hard part is keeping it accurate, available and up to date once your product depends on it.
- Background removalClean cutouts need segmentation models and GPUs. Hair, shadows and transparent objects are where in-house results fall apart.
- Compression and watermarkingImage and video processing pipelines need libraries, codecs and storage tuned for quality, speed and cost.
- ScreenshotsCapturing pages means running and securing headless browsers that crash, leak memory and get blocked.
- Link previewsSites expose metadata inconsistently or not at all. Previews need fallbacks, caching and handling for slow or broken pages.
Do you run an API that belongs in the Media Kit?
Publish it on ApyHub and put it in front of the teams and AI agents building with the Media Kit. Your API joins the catalog under one subscription, becomes callable through MCP, and earns from every call.
