Analyze Crypto Token Security Risks API

What it does

Token Risk Checker analyzes an ERC-20 style token contract for common scam and ownership risks. Send a blockchain address, optionally choose chain, and get back a risk assessment for that token on Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, or Avalanche.

The response includes the token’s source, chain, and address, plus a numeric riskScore from 0 to 100 and a riskLevel of low, medium, or high. It also reports whether the contract is an isHoneypot and may include checks such as isProxy, isMintable, holderCount, isOpenSource, ownerAddress, buyTaxPercent, sellTaxPercent, isBlacklisted, lpHolderCount, transferPausable, and canTakeBackOwnership when available.

Use Token Risk Checker when you need to screen a token before trading, listing, or integrating it into a wallet or analytics app. It helps you flag suspicious contracts, detect potentially trapped liquidity scenarios, and surface ownership or tax settings that deserve a manual review.

About this endpoint

What it does

Checks a token contract address for honeypot and risk-related signals on the selected blockchain network. It returns a JSON object with the token’s chain, address, risk classification, risk score, honeypot flag, and additional token properties when available.

Query Parameter(s)

Attribute	Type	Mandatory	Description
chain	String	No	Blockchain to check. Allowed values: `ethereum`, `bsc`, `polygon`, `arbitrum`, `optimism`, `base`, `avalanche`. Default: `ethereum`.
address	String	Yes	Token contract address. Format: `0x` followed by 40 hexadecimal characters.

Response

Returns a JSON object with required source, chain, address, riskScore, riskLevel, and isHoneypot fields. The response also includes optional token-risk details such as isProxy, isMintable, holderCount, and other nullable indicators when available.

isHoneypot	Boolean	Whether the token is identified as a honeypot.
isMintable	Boolean / Null	Whether the token is mintable, if available.
holderCount	Integer / Null	Number of holders, if available.
isOpenSource	Boolean / Null	Whether the contract source is open source, if available.
ownerAddress	String / Null	Owner address, if available.
buyTaxPercent	Number	Buy tax percentage.
isBlacklisted	Boolean / Null	Whether blacklisting is enabled or detected, if available.
lpHolderCount	Integer / Null	Number of liquidity pool holders, if available.
sellTaxPercent	Number	Sell tax percentage.
transferPausable	Boolean / Null	Whether transfers can be paused, if available.
canTakeBackOwnership	Boolean / Null	Whether ownership can be taken back, if available.
